Chiappetta Shoes is an essential part of the Kenosha community and as such, our people have to play a part in upholding the values that makes this city great. Being a part of the Chiappetta crew is a responsibility as well as a privilege. Chiappetta Shoes runs with a tight crew. Most of us have been together for years. When executing problem-solution based sales, these four values are of utmost importance. Confidence comes from knowing what you are talking about and having a deep and wide knowledge base of a customer’s problem. Empathy is what gives our solutions value; we ask ourselves would this be good enough for yourself, for your own mother? A shoe dog wants to know what’s hot, what’s not, and what’s next. A shoe dog is a guerrilla marketer at heart that knows the next step for themselves, for their competition, and their vendors. We know shoes so well we could write a book about shoes. That’s what a shoe dog is.

Positions

Inventory Specialist

The world of retail is not just about style, flash, pizazz. What makes a good retailer function is the foundation, the internal processes set up by individuals looking for every competitive advantage to make it to the top. We are looking for someone that loves systems, data, organization, and making connections. No retail experience is required but it does help. Daily activities will include e-commerce fulfillment, managing inventory levels, ordering fill-ins and special orders with companies, and data management. Creativity and ingenuity are just as important as motivation and reliability. What we are looking for is a motivated person, ready to make a difference and take a small business to the next level by assisting in building a lasting foundation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to learn footwear and inventory quickly.
  • A love for data and organization.
  • Ability to buy into the Chiappetta Crew, what we do and who we are.
  • Some warehouse or inventory management experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Competent in computer skills including Google Sheets, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient math and management skills.
  • Ability to work within our team.
  • Creativity and innovative personality to help build our new system.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 45 pounds.
  • Some level on knowledge in WordPress and WooCommerce is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • E-Commerce fulfillment including processing orders and shipping preparation.
  • Daily inventory including placing fill-in and special orders.
  • Bi-monthly inventory returns of defective inventory.
  • Seasonal inventory management.
  • Amazon E-Commerce management.
  • Seasonal data management.
  • Monthly operations review, always looking for better ways of doing things!
  • Seasonal website inventory data management including photography.
  • Detailed inventory work.

Internships

Pedorthic Internship Program

A specialty of Chiappetta Shoes that keeps many of our long-term customers coming back year after year is our custom orthotics. We have been manufacturing them in-house for 45 years, and have a wealth of experience to share with our lucky pedorthic intern! This on-the-job training will give you a leg up in many fields of work, particularly pre-med or physical therapy. Chiappetta Shoes’ methods and attention to detail and quality is unmatched. Our hours of operation will be applicable to this position, and your work hours will be flexible to coordinate with your class schedule. For the time you spend with us, you will be compensated with 3 college credits and a wealth of knowledge and practice to take to bring with you to your chosen profession, including:

  • Plaster casting to create positive molds of feet
  • Orthotic material management
  • Workshop workflow management
  • Orthotic manufacturing
  • Footwear modifications
  • And many other aspects of orthotic development!

Patient Care

  • Initial foot assessments
  • Orthotic recommentaions
  • Health-specific footwear recommendations
  • Orthotic fitting and adjustments
  • Regular orthotic maintenance and evaluations
