We love shoes. We study shoes. When we are at church, we are looking at shoes. When we are online, we are looking at shoes. Morning, afternoon, evening… shoes. A shoe dog wants to know what’s hot, what’s not, and what’s next. A shoe dog is a guerrilla marketer at heart that knows the next step for themselves, for their competition, and their vendors. We know shoes so well we could write a book about shoes. That’s what a shoe dog is.

We approach sales and customer service in a very old school way. “Old school dudes with new school shoes” is what we like to say. The best way to sum it up is we look at the customer – salesperson relationship as a problem – solution interaction. For many people customer service seems like a thing of the past. For most millennials and younger, customer service means frees shipping, no tax, free returns, and maybe a small amount of advice, but not REAL service in terms of advice and solution to a problem. We expect our sales staff to have a memorable personal touch, charisma, and a professional appearance. We expect our employees to be contributors, bringing imagination and energy to our company and community. We expect our sales people to be able to sell! Chiappetta Shoes offers great working hours, no Sundays or late evenings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to learn footwear and sales quickly.
  • Ability to buy into the Chiappetta Crew, what we do and who we are.
  • 6 months of sales experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Decent math skills and the ability to count cash.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 45 pounds.


  • Sell and sell well!
  • Checking in daily shipments.
  • Shoe Display maintenance and cleaning.
  • Cash register operation.
  • Detailed inventory work.

This sales position will be full time, 40 hours per week and Chiappetta Shoes offers competitive wages.


Pedorthic Internship Program

A specialty of Chiappetta Shoes that keeps many of our long-term customers coming back year after year is our custom orthotics. We have been manufacturing them in-house for 45 years, and have a wealth of experience to share with our lucky pedorthic intern! This on-the-job training will give you a leg up in many fields of work, particularly pre-med or physical therapy. Chiappetta Shoes’ methods and attention to detail and quality is unmatched. Our hours of operation will be applicable to this position, and your work hours will be flexible to coordinate with your class schedule. For the time you spend with us, you will be compensated with 3 college credits and a wealth of knowledge and practice to take to bring with you to your chosen profession, including:

Manufacturing Skills

  • Plaster casting to create positive molds of feet
  • Orthotic material management
  • Workshop workflow management
  • Orthotic manufacturing
  • Footwear modifications
  • And many other aspects of orthotic development!

Patient Care

  • Initial foot assessments
  • Orthotic recommentaions
  • Health-specific footwear recommendations
  • Orthotic fitting and adjustments
  • Regular orthotic maintenance and evaluations
  • Paperwork management
