Plantar Fasciitis – Our Favorites to Find Relief
A couple of weeks ago, I was at the hospital waiting for the birth of my first child. It was a crazy day and I thought I had brought everything to be as comfortable as possible. I had good shoes, good socks, and some Tylenol (just to be safe).
That next morning, you know what happened? After walking, standing, and stamping my feet all day waiting in anticipation for hours, my feet especially my heels and arches were killing me. As I walked down to the café to get some coffee and breakfast, I thought about where I went wrong. I had everything I thought I needed, but it wasn’t enough to stay keep comfortable.
As anyone who has experienced plantar fasciitis knows, the pain can be absolutely terrible. The Mayo Clinic explains the symptoms as:
“Plantar fasciitis typically causes a stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel. The pain is usually the worst with the first few steps after awakening, although it can also be triggered by long periods of standing or when you get up after sitting. “
The minute I got home; I grabbed a couple of things that I thought would help. I grabbed my shoes with the most amount of cushion, my trusty pair of Blue BIRKENSTOCK Footbeds, and my pair of Sockwell Athletic Socks. These 3 things combined helped me tremendously. When I got back into the office, I was talking to Tony about it, and he gave me some of his recommendations to help ease Plantar Fasciitis symptoms.
